Finite verb
a "doing verb" which shows tense in different forms
(e.g. give/ gave/ will give).
It can stand by itself in a sentence.
If there is only one verb in a sentence, it is finite.

Finite verbs (underlined)
I watch television.

I will watch television.

Non-finite verb
It does NOT show tenses and is usually
in the form of verb-ing, to-verb or past participle (pp).
A non-finite verb CANNOT stand by itself in a sentence.
