GRAMMAR: VERB TO BE (am, is, are)

Verb to be: am

• we use it in Present Tense

• we use 'am' with subject 'I'

• Examples : I am boy, I am a girl, I am a student, I am a teacher.

Verb to be: is

• we use it in Present Tense

• we use 'is' with singular subject (HE, SHE, IT)

• Examples: She is a nice girl, He is a smart boy, It is beautiful

• Pak Abu (singular subject) is old, The bird (singular subject) is colourful.

Verb to be: are

• We use it in Present Tense

• We use 'are' with plural subject (YOU, WE, THEY, ARE)

• Examples: They are nice girls, We are smart students, You are beautiful.

• Ronaldo and Messi (plural subject) are good soccer players, the bags (plural subject) are heavy.
