Subject-verb agreement

There are certain grammar rules that we have to follow when we write sentences.

Subject-verb agreement is when the subject and the verb in the sentence agree in number.

A singular subject goes with a singular verb.

Examples

Sarah walks around the block.

Joe eats spaghetti and meatballs.

The cat plays with the yarn.

A plural subject goes with a plural verb

For example;

1. Sarah and Molly walk around the block.

2. Joe and Marcus eat spaghetti and meatballs.
