What We Will READ
Instead of One LONG NOVEL, we will a series of short stories and poems from Richard Wright.
The stories we will read are:
- The Man Who Was Almost A Man
- I Choose Exile
- Long Black Song and/or Bright and Morning Star

Q3 will be Project Based!
You will work on a project during the entire quarter. You can choose from one of the following:
- Personal Memoir (A book all about your life)
- Book of Poetry (Your own original poems)
- Visual Arts (Digital or traditional art)
- Multimedia Presentation (PowerPoint, Slides, Song or original Video)

Personal Memoir
(A book all about your life)
If you choose the Personal Memoir, you will
- Create a book all about your life and your story
- Write creative nonfiction that develops your identity as an author!

Book of Poetry
If you choose Book of Poetry you will
- Create a book of poems that have a central theme of your choice
- Explore different types of poetry!

Visual Arts
If you choose the visual arts you will
- Create an original piece of art (Traditional or Digital)
- You art will represent a theme in the readings, or the developing identity of the author we will read

Multimedia Presentation
If you choose the Multimedia Presentation, you will
- Create a presentation in PowerPoint, Slides, or a video that tracks the development of our authorś identity over the course of several
