the person i picked is Florence Griffith Joyner also know as Flojo

While in elemtary school, she began her tack carreer .she joined the sugar Ray Robinson Organization.she also won the Jesse Owens National Youth Games 2yrs in a row ,at 14 and 15

She was born las angelas ,Ca on december 21 1959 ,she was the 7th out of 11.To Robert and Florence griffith the family was then moved to watts,Ca.

Before graduation form jordan high school in 1978. she had set a couple of records in sprinting and long jump.Afterwards she attended Cal State university . Where she was apat of the track team.

During her first year of college, her and the track team won the national Championship during her first year . Due to home circumstnces she had to drop out college and got a job as a bank teller .In 1980 her coach heped her get financial aid , so she was able to return back to college,but this time at UCLA.

Grittith and her fellow teammates qualified for the 100 meter final at the 1980 summer Olympics . Unfortunately Griffith finished last.Griffith also ran the 200 ,where she again finished last ,in 1983.Griffith graducted from UCLA with a batchelor's degree in psychology.

Between 1984 through 1988, Griffith had set multiple world records, such as 200 meter semifinals, 100-meter finals,she had won 4 Olympic medals 3 gold and 1 silver.

At the time her amount of medals, was the 2nd most ton a female track and field . athlete in history. but because of her world records there was suspicion of perfomance enhancement. Even though she was tested every time and passed.

flojo's family life

In 1987 she married Al Joyner ,whom also was an Olympion medalist. 3yrs later in 1990, they had their only child mary ruth Joyner ,on november 15th.

conclusion

USA Track and Field inducted her into it's Hall of fame in 1995 In 2000, the 102 2nd street school in Los Angeles, was renamed the Florence Griffith Joyner Elementary School.This is the school, she atttended as a child . Until this day Florence Griffith Joyner ,also known as Flojo, has been seen as one of the fastest women in track and field history.

personal highlights

Mrs Griffith was also know for her style of track clothing.As well as her 4 inch decorated nails.During Olympie games she wore her nails 6 inches. she also wore her hair long and wore jewlry,while competeing and designed most of her outfits.

Flojo's death

unfortunately on september 21 1998 Grriffith died in her sleep,from suffcation during a severe epileptic seizure.
