Adding Polynomials

  • Distribute if necessary.

     a(b±c)=ab±aca\left(b\pm c\right)=ab\pm ac  

  • Add the like terms together.  Don't forget that subtraction is adding the opposite.

  • Put the expression in standard form (Terms are arranged in descending degree order).
