-ff Rules
Most of the time, the -ff blends usually are at the end of a word. A time when they won't be is when they have -ed or -ing, etc.
Also, some words might have it but won't have it at the end.
We will mainly talk about the ones at the end and the ones with the -ed and -ing suffixes. Let's start!

Read the Passage
Sammy Snake loved his stuff. His stuff contained a staff his father gave him last Christmas, handcuffs for arresting his friends, a tiny fluff of cotton he found on his bed the other day, and the puff of smoke in a bottle which he collected from his chimney. He loved his stuff.
One day, he sniffed his bedroom and smelled something, unlike the regular days. He smelled smoke. He didn't know what was going on! He told his mother but his mother, with her stiff neck, didn't pay much attention. She was aching very badly. Sammy Snake tried to tell his dad, but he forgot that he was at work. Then, he went back to his room and tried to turn off the lights. But, nothing seemed to work.
He called his friends Red Robot and Talking Tess for their advice. When his friends came over, they searched the room. Talking Tess asked, "Was that puff of smoke always there?"
"Yes," Sammy Snake replied. Just then, everything clicked. The puff of smoke was probably the reason for the smoke and that smell he sniffed days ago.
He quickly grabbed the jar and released the puff of smoke. He was sad and wanted to reach for it again. He waved good-bye to it and went back inside.
He didn't smell the smoke anymore! What a relief! He laid in his bed, and a while later, it smelled normal. He sniffed it all in!
