2

Remember, we use the strategy Keep-Change-Flip when we divide unit fractions and whole numbers.

3

Keep the dividend the same. The dividend can be a unit fraction or a whole number. It is what is being divided, split, shared, cut apart, etc.

4

Change the division sign to a multiplication sign and solve. Remember, dividing unit fractions and whole numbers is actually multiplying by the reciprocal.

5

Flip the divisor by using its reciprocal. Remember, the reciprocal of a whole number is a unit fraction, 5 is 1/5. The reciprocal of a unit fraction is a whole number, 1/5 is 5.

6

 5÷12=5\div\frac{1}{2}=  will become 5 x 2=10

Start with a whole number, end with a whole number.

7

 1 5  ÷2=\frac{1}{\ 5\ \ }\div2=  will become  15 × 12=110   \frac{1}{5\ }\times\ \frac{1}{2}=\frac{1}{10}\ \ \                                                     Start with a unit fraction, end with a unit fraction

8

Remember, start with a unit fraction, end with a unit fraction. Start with a whole number, end with a whole number.
