Compound Subject / Nominative Case

  • Compound Subject - before the verb.

  • Example: Tom and she design the sets.

  • Compound Predicate Noun - after a linking verb (is, am, are, was, were / like an =)

  • Example: The designers are Tom and she. (The designers = Tom and she; Tom and she = the designers.)

  • Compound Direct Object - after an action verb.

  • Example: The artist drew Len and her.

  • Compound Object of a Preposition - after a preposition (of, in, to, with, from, on, through, over, before, after ....)
