Steps to solving Basic Trig Equations

If sin θ = k where :

* k > 0 / +ve , then solutions for θ lie in the 1st and 2nd Quadrants.

* k < 0 / -ve , then the solutions for θ lie in the 3rd and 4th Quadrants.

If cos x = k where :

* k > 0 / +ve , then the solutions for x lie in the 1st and 4th Quadrants.

* k < 0 / -ve , then the solutions for x lie in the 2nd and 3rd Quadrants.

If tan θ = k where :

* k > 0 / +ve , then solutions for θ lie in the 1st and 3rd Quadrants.

* k < 0 / -ve , then solutions for θ lie in the 2nd and 4th Quadrants.
