• Words that describe a character’s personality or qualities.

• A trait helps to make the character unique or special.

• For Example:

• Do you remember Charlie’s Grandpa?

• He was friendly, jovial, kindhearted……..

• So, today we will be analyzing the character Androcles.

Activity 2: Write a character sketch.

• Group Red: Complete the character sketch using the sentence starter (Access the quiz assigned in phoenix) for the character Lion.

• Group Blue: Write a character sketch of Androcles. Students will refer to the checklist.

• Group Green: Write a letter to your friend telling him/her about Master’s/ King's personality. (Access the quiz assigned in phoenix) Students will refer to the rubric of an informal letter.

Character Sketch checklist

• The first sentence should be an introductory sentence describing the character. 

• Supporting sentences should state evidence from the story that supports the topic sentence through the character’s actions, statements, thoughts, and feelings. 

• The last sentence should be a wrap-up, which restates the character traits.
