Understand PERCENT

• A PERCENT is a comparison of a part to a whole where the whole is 100.

• You can use the % symbol to represent any percent.

• Percents can be written as ratios or fractions since they represent a part-to-whole relationship.

• Fifty percent can be written as 50/100 = 50%.
