  • Paint

  • Cement drying

  • cooking e.g rice, lentils and maize meal.

ACTIVITY

  • USE THREE STUDENTS.

    POUR HAND SANITIZER ON THEIR HANDS.

  • Tell them to rub their hands together as if you were washing them.

    What do they notice?

  • The hands are dry. The hand sanitizer has evaporated off their hands. The hands feel cool.

  • Explain that evaporation is a cooling process.

  • WHY DO WE SWEAT?

  • As the temperature rises, your body begins to produce sweat. As the sweat evaporates, it carries with it some of the heat from your body, causing your body to cool down.

- Evaporation helps us to dry things such as washing, our hair, and food.

-Liquids evaporate faster when the air is moving.
