  • Resistance Stage- The body now adapts to the stressor, and the symptoms may disappear. However, the body uses a lot of energy.

  • What may happen is that you may start to tired, irritable, and less able to handle any added stress.

  • Exhaustion Stage- Your body can no longer keep up with the physical or emotional demands that are being placed upon it.

  • This stage only occurs if the stressor is continuous for weeks, months, and years.
