World Hearing Day-Why is it celebrated?

World Hearing Day is a campaign held annually by Office of Prevention of Blindness and Deafness of the World Health Organization.

Activities take place across the globe and an event is hosted at the World Health Organization on March 3.

The theme for World Hearing Day 2021 is Hearing Care for All.

World Hearing Day is also celebrated to increase awareness about the problems or symptoms faced by those who suffer from hearing loss or hearing impairment and what measures we can take to prevent it.

Why do we need to hear?

Hearing allows us to communicate with others verbally, listen to music, be more alert to sounds or warnings around us, we even use our hearing to laugh!
