Commission - What is that???

It is a sum of money that is paid to an employee. It is based on a certain percentage of what they have sold.

“he works on commission"

Example:

If Sheri sold $24,750 worth of jewelry and gets a 12% commission, how much does she get paid?

We need to figure out what 12% of $24,750 is to find out her commission.

 12100 = x24,750\frac{12}{100}\ =\ \frac{x}{24,750}

Now solve for x.   She would make $2,970
