What did Géza’s conversion to Christianity mean in reality?

“a mindenható Istennek, de [más] istenségek különféle hiú képzeteinek is áldozott, s midőn főpapjától szemrehányást kapott ezért, magáról azt állította: elég gazdag és hatalmas ahhoz, hogy ezt megtehesse.” (Merseburgi Thietmar krónikája)

Historians assume that Géza founded some Christian churches and monasteries and maybe even some dioceses.

The most important of them is Pannonhalma, supposedly founded in 996.

Which religious order settled down at this place?

The Greek Orthodox nunnery in Veszprémvölgy also had its roots in Géza’s reign.
