see how the two authors wrote about the topic of turning ideas

into action.

In this lesson we are going to look

further at the details in these texts and compare and contrast

how the two authors present their ideas.

Compare Language Choices

How does each author describe the work kids do in the community gardens? First I’ll look on page 25 in Change Makers to find words that describe what the kids do in the gardens. I see the kids help plant seeds and water gardens. I’m going to write “plant seeds” and “water gardens” in the first column of my chart. Next I will look at page 155 of City Green.
