The word “Islam” means “submission to the will of God.”
Followers of Islam are called Muslims.
Muslims are monotheistic and worship one, all-knowing God, who in Arabic is known as Allah, which means GOD in Arabic language
.
Islam teaches that Allah’s word was revealed to the prophet Muhammad through the angel Gabriel
Muslims contend that Muhammad was the final prophet.
Some beliefs of islam are

The teaching of the Prophet Mohammad is at the core of Islamic beliefs. After his death there was a divide over who should take leadership and two groups formed—the Sunni and the Shia, with 85% of Middle Eastern Muslims being Sunni and 15% being Shia. For the most part the two branches are very similar with Mohammad’s teaching at their core, but some differences in interpretation and culture have developed over time
