4 main easy steps
There are main four steps that all computers use. These might seem simple , but these are common to all computers. These steps are
Input, Process, Storage, Output.
Input is when you do an action to make the computer do something. Then it process it. When you click on a pause button. ( an example ) The computer pauses. Your action is you click on a pause button. Then the computer pauses it because you are telling the computer to pause it. Then it processes the info and put it in storage to save the info for later. The output is the results. Then it pauses the game. The computer does these steps in just 1 millisecond.

Binary and data
In the decimal system it has 10 digits. 0,1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9. The computers have only 2 digits called binary system. It is 1s and 0s. 1s and 0s represent only 2 things. 1 means on, yes, or true. 0 means of, false, or no. But why do computers only use binary system? Computers could use the decimal system to , right?
Let's take an example of a light. It has on or of. 1 or 0 , binary system.0, 1 , 2 , 3 , 4 , 5 , 6 , 7 8 , 9 , decimal system. If the computer uses the decimal system computers would have to make several statements. It would be a lot harder than the binary system. Computers use binary all the time. When you are watching a video, playing games , texting messages to your friends , downloading a file , video , or image , listening to music or anything you do on a computer.

Circuits & logic
As you know input and output, binary takes the input with 1s and 0s and then process it and gives the output. But how does it process it?
It uses millions of tiny pieces called circuits. A simple circuit will take the binary maybe which is 1 and flips it. So that means it will become a 0. So the results will be different then what the binary gives so this circuit is called a not. To form a bigger circuit it needs a small circuit connected with a larger circuit which is will hold 2 numerals. This type of circuit will only keep a 0 when the binary system sends one 1 , and one 0. So that means when both of them is 1 then the circuit will give a 1. Like this there will be millions of circuits connected to each other which will take several binary numbers processes it and gives the results.

Storage
Let’s take an example when you click on the the letter L. Binary converts the letter to numbers. It sends to the cpu or the central processing unit. Then it asks the storage how do I make the letter L? Since the storage has been saving things it knows how to draw the letter L.. It sends the cpu instructions how to draw the letter L. Even for numerals they do the same thing.
