Cause and Effect

A cause is what makes something happens. 

- To find the cause, ask yourself: “Why did it happen?” or "What happened first?

An effect is what happens because of something else (the cause).

-To find the effect, ask yourself: “What happened?” or "What happened next?"

Common and Proper Nouns

Fact and Opinion

• Facts are statements that are true and can be verified objectively or proven. In other words, a fact is true and correct no matter what.

• Opinions are statements that reflect the views or ideas that people have about subjects and topics.

Sensory Adjectives

• Adjectives help us see, feel, taste, hear, and smell things. To use adjectives appropriately, you have to use your senses.
