Third person singular

In present simple, the verb changes only in third person singular (he, she, it, a person, a thing), we usually add -s 

Examples:

run -> Emily runs every day

live -> Carlos lives in Santiago

-es suffix

The -es suffix is used when the verb ends in the letters ss, sh, ch, x or z.

Examples:

catch -> Sam catches butterflies

Fix -> Sarah fixes the car

Attention!

When the base form ends in consonant + y, we change y to i and then add -es

Study -> She studies

Worry -> He worries
