  • Their age

  • Their job

  • How much schooling they have had

  • Where they live

  • Culture or ways of spending and saving that they grew up with

Some Things to Think About When Spending Money

  • Education - Are you planning on going to college or university? Are your parents paying, or are you paying?

  • Entertainment - How important is it for you to go out with your friends? Do you need to buy the latest shoes? Will you wear name-brand clothing or basic clothing?

  • Transportation - How will you get to high school or university? Do you need a bus pass or do you want a car? 

  • Earnings - How much money do you make each month? Will you get a job in high school? Do you want a summer job?

  • Savings/Investments - What goals do you have for the future? Do you want to buy a house one day?

  • Donations - Do you really care about donating to a specific organization or cause?
