Let’s talk about Geography.
Today we’re looking at the United Kingdom, or the UK.
The UK is made up of four countries: England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland.
Let’s look at these four countries.

England
England is in the south.
It’s surrounded by the Atlantic Ocean in the west.
To the south we find the English Channel that divides it from France
To the east we find the North Sea
The capital is London

Londra
London is a very big city. More than eight million people live here. There are lots of famous places in London. There’s the Tower of London. There’s Buckingham Palace, where the Queen lives . There’s Big Ben and the Houses of Parliament. Here’s the London Eye, the famous ferris wheel.
In this photo in the center there is Tower Bridge. It’s a busy city – and it’s exciting!

Let’s go to Scotland
Scotland is in the north of the UK
Scotland is big, but not many people live here. There are a lot of forests, lakes, mountains and hills.
Scotland is surrounded by the North Sea
Edinburgh is the capital city of Scotland

Let’s go to Wales
Is a small country. It’s in the west of the UK
Wales is beautiful. It’s got mountains in the north. There are lots of sheep.
The capital city of Wales is Cardiff.
On the flag of Wales there is a Red Dragon
Rugby is a popular sport in Wales.

It’s Northern Ireland
Northern Ireland is on a different island to England, Scotland and Wales. To get there, you can take a plane or cross the Irish Sea on a boat.
Northern Ireland is
surrounded by the Atlantic Ocean in the north and the east
Belfast is the capital city of Northern Irelan

Union Jack
The Union Jack is the symbol of the United Kindom, and includes three flags in one. In fact, his design consists of three parts:
the Cross of St. George, the flag of England,
St. Andrew's Cross, the flag of Scotland,
St. Patrick's Cross, the flag of Ireland.

So the UK is an interesting place
It has four countries and a lot of green countryside. It is surrounded by the sea. There are small towns and big cities.
