Perception Checking Overview

• 1) Describe the behaviour that you're noticing in a factual way. 

• 2) Offer two possible interpretations or explanations of the behaviour you have described. 

• One explanation is positive and gives the receiver the benefit of the doubt

  One shows your interpretation by saying something like "It seems to me that..."

• 3)Ask the receiver to clarify the behaviour.
