Steps to solve word problems:

1) Translate to an equation

             -Be careful of less than and more than which switch the order

2) Complete the opposite operations to get the variable by itself

Example 1: The product of a number and 12 is 9.

Example 2: 15 less than a number is 46.

Example 3: A number increased by 15 is equal to 13.

Example 4: Half of a number is 7.
