Fall of Rome

  • 476 A.D., the last Roman emperor, young Romulus Augustulus, was forced to leave the throne

  • Roman law and administration was weakening due to a a wave of attack

  • old systems of law, merchant trade began to disappear

  • paved roads, aqueducts, and reservoirs began to crumble

  • this time period began known as the "Dark Ages"
