Dinosaurs were big, but they looked and acted like birds. Dinosaurs had hollow bones just like birds do. We all know that birds hatch from eggs. Now we know that dinosaurs hatched from eggs, too. Scientists found some very old nests with eggs that had turned to stone. The nests were far, far apart. A 23 foot long mother could lie on her nest to keep the eggs warm without touching another nest. Dinosaur mothers took care of their babies until they could walk. Bird mothers take care of their babies until they can fly. Scientists think that dinosaurs were just like birds. Maybe birds are just small dinosaurs.
