• This is measured over long periods of time.

• In order to understand climate change, we need to understand weather and its patterns

• A weather system is the interaction of different parts that produce something new

Weather refers to:

• The state of the atmosphere in a particular place and time

• Weather occurs over short time periods

• Weather predictions usually cover days or weeks

• Neighborhood Center - local sources of staple and goods

Land use concepts

• Reversible Use - after use it can return to normal easily

• Irreversible Uses - physically impossible to restore the land

• Multiple-use - used over and over

• Compatible use - either coexist with other types of uses or not

• Best use - maximum effective usage

• Comprehensive - regulated use
