What do you know about the 20th century (aka 1900s)? Important events, people, places, changes in history, etc...?

Turn of the century to 1900

• some nations are on top of the world!

• Some nations are struggling HARD

• New players are coming on the scene

• The relationship between all these groups will dictate the 1900s (especially the first half)

UK (british empire)

• doing swell (thanks to imperialism)

• population growing and nation is extremely wealthy

• cutting edge of science and technology

• The empire itself is very powerful...but the british isles are meh

Continental Europe (non England)

• France is great

• Germany is a baby nation but growing in power and impact really fast

• Spain/Italy is shaky (civil war coming soon)

• Russia is big and powerful but super unstable and iffy

• Austria-Hungary Empire is doing stuff in east Europe

Asia

• Japan is industrial and imperial and HUNGRY

• China is a hot mess! Bye Bye Qing Dynasty

• Indian is under british empire tight grip

• Indochina is under french domination

• Korea/russia is getting beat up by japan

United States

• We are kinda crushing it

• getting rich off our own economy and imperilism

• population is booming and spreading nationwide

• political transitioning with lots of action

• not a military power by any stretch

Ottoman Empire and Middle east

• Ottomans are seriously in trouble

• nation states breaking away

• imperial states like iraq and egypt

• will become super important when vehicles are invented

New Technology

• telephones and radio communication

• electricity in some areas (major wealthy cities)

• semi-automatic weaponry and artillery

• Gasoline/Diesel vehicles begin to arrive

Everything seems to be running smoothly...until it isnt!
