Genitive case!

This is Thiago's class.

Thiago é dono de CLASS

CLASS pertence a Thiago.

My father's brother is my uncle.

My father's brother's kids are my cousins -> As crianças do irmão do meu pai são meus primos.

5

Uso do genitive case

• The event is in a week's time.

• He was sentenced to ten days' prison.

Um item compartilhado > apenas um genitive no fim do último nome:

•My brother and my sister's computer is broken.

•My brother's and my sister's computers are broken.

• The mayor of the city = O prefeito da cidade.

• The mayor's city = A cidade do prefeito.

• The book cover = A capa do livro
