Two Kinds of Outline
Sentence Outline - use complete sentences
Topic Outline - use words or phrases

Example of Sentence Outline
The sentences in this type of outline should be complete sentences
Have a system of letters and numbers to organize your headings and subheadings
Align ideas of the same rank. As such, whenever there is a subheading, always indent that subheading to the right
There should be no single subheading
The grammar and the construction of the sentence outline should be consistent all throughout the outline

Use words or phrases

Indent the headings properly
Each statement in the topic should start with a capital letter
For statements, the phrases should be grammatically parallel to each other
