Alí Babá y los cuatrenta ladrones’

Cuentan que hace mucho vivía en Persia un hombre muy humilde que se dedicaba a cortar leña para luego venderla en el mercado. Se llamaba Alí Babá. Su hermano menor, de nombre Cassim, sin embargo, se había casado con una mujer muy rica y siempre presumía de su enorme fortuna. De hecho, contaban hasta con una esclava muy inteligente que se llamaba Margiana.

They say that a very humble man lived in Persia a long time ago who cut firewood and then sold it in the market. His name was Ali Baba. His younger brother, named Cassim, however, had married a very wealthy woman and always boasted of his enormous fortune. In fact, they even had a very intelligent slave named Margiana.

Un día, Alí Babá cortaba leña en lo alto de un árbol, cuando de pronto vio llegar en medio de una inmensa humareda de polvo y arena a un grupo muy numeroso de jinetes. Pararon justo al lado de donde él estaba y pudo contarlos: ¡Eran cuarenta!Entonces vio que se dirigían hacia una gran roca con numerosas bolsas llenas de oro. Al llegar, dijeron:– ¡Ábrete, Sésamo!

One day, Ali Babá was cutting firewood at the top of a tree, when suddenly he saw a very large group of horsemen arrive in the middle of an immense smoke of dust and sand. They stopped right next to where he was standing and he could count them: There were forty of them! Then he saw that they were heading towards a large rock with numerous bags full of gold. When they arrived, they said: - Open up, Sesame!

Alí Babá estaba muerto de miedo. Esperó a que los ladrones se fueran, y luego bajó hasta la piedra, dijo las palabras mágicas…– ¡Ábrete, Sésamo!Y luego entró. La cueva estaba repleta de sacos llenos de oro y piedras preciosas.
