Using I and Me

When you write about yourself, you use the pronouns I and me.

The Pronouns I and we can be subjects in a sentence.

The Pronouns me and us can be used in the predicate part of the sentence.

• Jake works with me.

• He asked us to help.

Suffixes

Remember suffixes are word endings that can be added to a base word to chane it meaning.

The suffix -ful means "full of" or "having."

help + ful = helpful

The suffix -ly means "in a way that is."

slow + ly =slowly

quick + ly = quickly

bad + ly = badly

The suffix -less means "without"

care + less = careless

hope + less = hopeless

fear + less = fearless
