Relevance of percentage in life.

1. When applying for a credit card or loan, you make repayments with a percentage interest rate. 

2. When saving money, the bank will pay you interest at a percentage rate. 

3. When shopping, prices are reduced by a certain percentage of the cost.

Group work.

1) You will be taking your own surveys today in order to find out more about your classmates.

2) Students will be asking one question of their classmates and collecting results. They will record these results as both fractions, e.g. 1/10, and percentages, e.g. 10%.
