Agenda for Today

  • Journal Sketch using Google Drawings

  • Lab Investigation: Electrons, Protons, and Charges

  • Scientist Spotlight: Lisa Meitner

  • Kahoot! or Timeline Project

  • Breaks in between

Journal Sketch

If you look closely at the tip of a sharpened pencil, you will see that it is made of graphite. Going deeper, graphite is made of carbon atoms. Deeper still, each carbon atom is made of protons, neutrons, and electrons.

In this sketch, you will illustrate and these subatomic particles and their charges.

Draw a model of a Carbon atom and its charge

  • Your model should show: Electrons, Protons, Neutrons, and Charge

  • Annotate the sketch, including labels and statements that describe what a viewer is seeing.
