Format Painter
Imagine you wrote an essay but realised that certain parts you need done in a certain style.
It could take a long time to go through the essay and make all the changes.
Format painter can help speed up this process

Format painter
Format painter allows us to easily copy the font format from one part of a document to another

Using the format painter tool
Select a part of the document that has the font format that you wish to copy
Locate the format painter button, usually located top left of the screen
You will notice that the cursor has a little paint brush next to it.
Click and drag over the text you want to change
NOTE: If you want to make more than one change, you will have to double click on the format painter button.

Superscript
Superscript literally means 'above text'. To make text superscript means to format it so that it is higher than the normal text and usually a little smaller.

Subscript
Subscript is the opposite.
Subscript literally means 'below text'.
To make text subscript means to format it so that it is lower than the normal text and usually a little smaller.

How to make text superscript or subscript (the slightly longer way!)
Right click and from the pop-up menu, choose 'font'
A menu will pop up. Make sure you have the 'font' tab selected
You will be able to 'check' (tick) the box with the option you want.

On the ribbon at the top of the screen, you may see 2 buttons
X2 --makes text superscript
X2 - makes the text subscript

Character spacing
Sometimes, the text you have typed may not fit in to the space you want it to.
If you start changing font sizes and margins, the document may not look the way you want it to!
One option is to change the spacing between characters
This is also known as changing the 'tracking'

How to change the spacing
Right click and from the pop-up menu, choose 'font'
A menu will appear. Make sure you have the 'advanced' tab selected.
At the top of this menu, you will see drop down options that allow you to choose 'expanded' or 'condensed'.
Expanded will INCREASE the spacing between the characters while condensed will DECREASE the spacing between characters.
Adjust the number to the right to change the amount of space between characters.
