An Exponent: Explained By A Fellow Student

An exponent is when you take a number and you put a little number right beside it. Whatever that little number is, is how many times you have to multiply the big number by itself.


Example: 25, The number is now 2 to the power of 5. Which is 2*2*2*2*2=35.

Exponents Explained By A Student: Review

Exponents are a number multiplied by itself by the power of another number aka an exponent. For an example: 25 is 2 to the power of 5, which is 2*2*2*2*2=35. 5 would be the exponent in the equations or problem.
