Look at this ecosystem. These animals have adapted to survive longer and better. An adaptation is a physical or behavioral characteristic that has developed to allow an organism to better survive in its environment.

There are THREE types of adaptations. The first one is BEHAVIORAL!

Those birds made a behavioral adaptation over time. Migrating! They developed this adaptation because the birds settled in warm places. But whenever winter came the warm place got cold and the birds died or got very COLD. They needed a way to solve this so they started to migrate, they migrated to warmer places when winter came! They needed this adaptation!

Some adaptations are reserved for only predators. Like sharp teeth for the shark. Some are also for prey! Like the plant growing thorns so other animals don't eat it.
