Plans for Reconstruction

Reconstruction lasted from 1865-1877 and went through many different highs and lows and with different leaders in charge. There were FOUR different plans for Reconstruction:

  • President Abraham Lincoln's Plan

  • Congress (Radical Republicans) Plan

  • President Andrew Johnson's Plan

  • President Ulysses S. Grant's Plan

    Some of these plans existed at the same time and caused conflict between the President and Congress
