What is an inequality?

• used to model a situtation that has a range of answers instead of just a single answer.

x > 3

• X is greater than 3, but not exactly 3

• solutions can include 4, 7, 127 etc.

• You need more than 3 letters in your password

x < 4

• x is less than 4, but not exactly 4

• solutions can include 2, 0, -15, etc.

• You need fewer than 10 students in a small testing group

The extra line at the bottom means it can equal that number.
