Irregular verbs in Spanish

  • There are three "families" of irregular verbs in Spanish

  • Today we are going to work with the "u" stem family.

  • The verbs in this family are: "estar", "poder", "poner"', "tener" and "saber".

What is different?

  • One common new stem works for all the conjugations.

  • One new set of endings for each family will be used.

  • No accent mark is needed for irregular preterite verbs.
