It was winter in Yunnan, the hometown of Wang Fuman. He walked to school in the cold weather as it was the first day of the examinations

He walked slowly in the snow for an hour to reach his school that day. Though the weather was very cold, he did not wear his only big torn jacket as it was dirty. It was too cold to wash clothes by hand in winter. Whenever he wore dirty clothes. he scratched his body as it was itchy.

Fuman's story was reported 111 the news. After reading his story, many Singaporeans offered to help him. They donated winter clothing. Fuman was overjoyed and wore his new jacket to school. His father however refused to accept any cash donations. He wanted Fuman to study hard to have a bright future.
