What are the different types of governments you know? Explain any one of them.

4

As explained by Abraham Lincoln

A Democracy is the government OF the people, BY the people and FOR the people

5

The System of Islamic Leadership

A Government OF Allah (swt), BY Allah (swt) and FOR Allah (swt)

6

Islam – Government of Allah

In Islam, Laws are made by Allah. People have no say in legislation, they are only required to follow.

"And it behoves not a believing man and a believing woman that they should have any choice in their matter when Allah and His Apostle have decided a matter; and whoever disobeys Allah and His Apostle, he surely strays off a manifest straying." - S Ahzab V 36

7

Islam – Government by Allah

In Islam, Allah appointed all his prophets (a.s.), people were not consulted.

"And they say: Why was not this Quran revealed to a man of importance in the two towns?" - S Zukhruf V 31

8

Islam – Government for Allah

In Islam every thing is for Allah, to gain the pleasure of Allah; if it is done for the people, it is termed as hidden polytheism.

"And I have not created the jinn and the men except that they should serve Me." - S Zariyat V 56

9

Conclusion

  • The governance of Islam is not based on democracy.

  • The Islamic laws are OF Allah, BY Allah and FOR Allah.

  • Those responsible for presenting and explaining these laws are also appointed BY Allah and people have no say.

  • The aim of our life is to worship Allah and gain His pleasure and proximity.
