Review Verbs

• Action Verb: a verb that tells what people or things do.

• Linking Verb: tells what someone or something is like (what it is vs what it does).

• Main Verb: tells what the action is.

• Helping Verb: comes before the main verb and tells more about the action.

Examples

• The reporter rushed to the stadium. (Action Verb)

• People were excited for the game. (Linking Verb)

• Thousands of people had gathered at the stadium. (Helping Verb) (Main Verb)
