  • they are often used to help people in need but that is not always the case

What is the difference between a Charity and a Non-profit Organization?

Charity

  • Charities are exempt from paying taxe

  • The money obtained through donations and other sums goes to other causes.

  • The charity will withhold a small amount of donation money in order to keep the program running.

  • Non-profits do not need to operate exclusively for charitable purposes.

  • They can operate for social welfare, civic improvement, pleasure, sport, recreation or any other purpose except for profit.
