Grandmother Ling sat fanning herself on- a stone bench at the side of the po_ol. Ah' Shung, her youngest·grandchild, came into the garden waving a bag in the air. Though· the youngest, he is the cheekiest of them alL Her other grandchildren were running after him. Her eyes beamed with pleasure as she watched her grandchildren play with boundless energy.

Cakes! Cakes! Ah Shung is eating cakes!" his cousins shrieked as they rushed towards him. Wanting to tease his playmates, Ah Shuhg ran away, clutching his cakes tightly· in his hand as he waved the bag in the air. The children pursued him relentlessly to the. middle of the white humpbacked bridge -over-.the--pool of goldfish. Ah Shung was truly trapped!
