4
What is the soil texture triangle?
5
-The soil texture triangle is one of the tools that soil scientists use to visualize and understand the meaning of soil texture names.
-The textural triangle is a diagram which shows how each of these 12 textures is classified based on the percent of sand, silt, and clay in each.
6
What can the soil texture triangle be used for?
7
Using the soil texture triangle, scientists have created classes which break the distribution of particle sizes (soil textures) into 12 categories: clay, sandy clay, silty clay, sandy clay loam, clay loam, silty clay loam, sand, loamy sand, sandy loam, loam, silt loam, silt.
8
Why might it be important to identify types of soil?
9
-It is important to be able to identify your soil type so that you are able to grow the plants that prefer that environment.
-If you don't have the correct soil type to grow the plants that you want to grow, then you can add the nutrients and mix in additional soil content to make the perfect mix for your plants' needs
