Muy sencillo: divide en número del año entre cien. El número obtenido tiene una parte entera y una parte decimal. Si la parte decimal no es exactamente cero, suma una unidad a la parte entera y ese es el siglo.
Por ejemplo: año 1492.
1492 / 100
s el siglo XV
Otro ejemplo: año 2000.
2000 / 100
