Pronoun-Verb Agreement
Remember a pronoun is a word that takes the place of a noun.
A present tense verb tells what is happening right now.
33
Present-tense action verbs must agree with the pronoun in the same sentence. We add a -s or -es to most action verbs in the present tense with the singular pronouns he, she, and it.
She makes rules.
He follows rules.
It keeps us safe.
34
She makes rules.
Notice the pronoun is she, so the action verb make ends in -s in order to agree.
35
He follows rules.
Notice the pronoun is he, so the action verb follow ends in -s in order to agree.
36
It keeps us safe.
